After Listening to the newly released Ancient Art of Facts project from Orion: The Rhythmatic Word, eye most say the entire project is worthy of a listen or two or three. Though there are a few that stand out for various reasons. Eye have chosen to share “Sirens in the Ghetto” here. Why? Thanks for asking. It speaks to how time after time we manage even in our youth to turn trauma into triumph. At the same to pulling at the Fact that generation after generation becomes more desensitized by the normalization of our "struggle". A "struggle often involuntarily glorified, commercialized, whitewashed, and monetized without much if any recognizable improvement within ourselves as individuals let alone our families and communities. For me this is something like a call to action to fight the power for the young, gifted and black, anthem. Listen with an open everything.
